Mails close at the Chief Post Office as under:— THIS DAY (SATURDAY), MAY 6. For Australian States and South Africa, via Auckland, per s.s. Victoria, by North Express at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and guard's van till 11.14 a.m. TUESDAY, MAY 9. For Lyttelton and Christchurch, per s.s. Tarawera, at 2 p.m. Late-fee letters 3 p.m. on ship. WEDNESDAY, MAY lo! For Australian States, Expeditionary Force, Ceylon, India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, South Africa, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, if specially addressed via Suez (due London June 21), by North Express at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station late-fee box till 11.14 a.m. For Chatham Islands, by North Express at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and railway station late-fee box till 11.14 a.m. FRIDAY, MAY 12. > Australian States, via Bluff, per s.s. Wimmera, by North Express, at 6.30 a.m. Latefeo letters C.P.O. 8 a.m., and guard's van till 8.30 a.m.
The next best despatch for the United States of America, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe will close at Dunedin on May 13. Parcels for Expeditionary Forces abroad close at this office two days previous to despatch of ordinary letter mails at 8 p.m. Book packets and newspapers the previous day at 10 a.m. Money orders for places within the dominion close one hour before advertised time of closing letter mails. Money orders for places beyond the dominion for despatch by the North or South Express close at 4 p.m. the previous day. Registered mails closo one hour beforo advertised time of closing ordinary mails. Book packets, commercial papers, and newspapers close half an hour before the advertised time of letter mails.
