A similar arrangement is operating between France and Germany. Swiss doctors examine and decide upon urgency cases.

HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS. LONDON, May 2. In the Champagne a French cannonade has been directed against revictualling convoys north of Navarin.

In the Argonno a strong German recon naissance was dispersed north of Harazee.

West of the Meu&e artillery activity was continued in the course of the night from the region of Avoncourt to Mortliomme.

East of the Meu&e the French yesterday evening briskly attacked south-east of Fort Douaumont, and a German trench was occupied on a front of about 500 metres, and 100 prisoners were taken. French information states that French attacks on Saturday and Sunday against the slopes north of Morthomme gained a front of about 1000 metres of, enemy trenches to a depth of between 300 and 600 metres.

A German attack east of Ypres last night, preceded by an hour's bombardment, broke down under the British fire without reaching its objective. Another enemy attempt to leave their lines north of Albert was also stopped. To-day there is artillery activity at Montauban,*Thiepval, Carency, Vermelles, Wytschaete, . and Ypres.
