MR RYAN AT HOME
NEWSPAPER INTERVIEWS. Prose Association—By TelegTaiph—Copyright. LONDON, May 2. The newspapera liave interviewed Mr Ryan, Labour Premier of Queensland, who described the extension of State enterprises, and stated that he hoped later to see Australian State ownership of shipping. He contended that the prompt commandeering of the entire British shipping would have prevented the scandalously high freights. Mr Ryan said he believed that the con, tinuance of British investors' confidence would provide money to build Queensland railways ahead of settlement. He has had interviews with Mr Bona* Law, Colonial Secretary, and is to- visit Scotland and France.
