ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

(Peh United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, May 2. A married woman named Jemima Walshe, 42 years of age, was found dead this morning in a yard at the rear of the residence of her parents—Mr and Mrs Howan, of Daniel street. She had been staying with her parents for some time, and beyond a slight mental depression had been in good health. Tho first knowledge her parents had of any trouble wag -when Mrs Walshe was found lying dead with her tliroai cut and a razor beside hor. It is understood that Mia Walshe formerly resided at Foxton, She leaves a family of five children. HOKITIKA, May 2. Albert Bissell, head bushman at Butler Bros.'s sawmill, Ruatapu, was killfcd this morning by a dead tree falling while he was hauling a tree on a wire rope. The deceased was 35 years of age. He leaves a widow and a young family of fivo.

Peter Herald, a married man, 60 years of age, residing at 165 Maitland street, died at the Hospital at 4 o'clock yesterday morning. The deceased had been admitted to the Hospital on Monday in a condition suggesting apoplexy. The'police have not yet decided whether an inquest will bo necessary. A sad accident occurred at the Palmerston saleyards on Monday after the sale was concluded. The younger son of Mr Galloway, who often helped the stock agents and buyers to feilce their cattle out of tho yards, was holding one of the gates, when a ralf rushed the gate and threw the boy against a fence, cutting his head very badly. The unfortunate boy managed somehow to got home, but on reaching there he became unconscious, and remained so all night. He was conscious for a short time yesterday, but afterwards remained in a comatose condition. It seems that the full extent of the injury cannot be ascertained at preeent. Great sympathy is felt for Mr and Mrs Galloway.
