INFANTILE PARALYSIS
DECLINE IN WELLINGTON DISTRICT. (From Oub Own Cobbespondent.) WELLINGTON, May 2. Notifications of infantile paralysis in the Wellington health district have lately shown a steady decrease. The district health, officer supplied some figures to-day regarding tho number of cases. The first notification in the Wellington district was received from New Plymouth on January 31. The patient was a recent arrival from Auckland. In tho whole district there hav© been 325 cases, distributed practically over tho whole area. The worst outbreak occurred in Gisborne, where there were 31 cases in the towr. itself. In Wellington and adjacent boroughs there have been only 39 cases. Tho district is almost free from tho disease now, and the Health Department expects that a very little while will see the end of it.

OHRISTCHUR.CH, May 2. A case of infantile paralysis, a boy aged: one year, is reported -from tho Ashburton district.
