KING STREET CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.

Anniversary services were hold this -week at the King 'Street Congregational Church. On Sunday special services were conducted by the B>evs. R. -S. Gray, S. Griffith, and It. Scott-Allan, who delivered inspiriting addresses. The annual social, fixed far Wednesday, was largely attended. After tea had been partaken of, the pastor, the Rev. G. Hcighway, presided over a function that was largely musical in character, the presentation of the annual' reports being reserved for a special congregational meeting. In welcoming visitors from sister churches the Chairman briefly referred to the progress of the church throughout the year, the splendid work in the Sabbath school, the valuable services of the choir under Mr C. H. Plant, the earnest patriotic work of the women. The church had sent 18 of its young men to fight for the Empire in a righteous cause. Mr G. S. Griffith (Church of Christ) and the Rev. W. Saunders {Moray Place Congregational Church) spoke words of congratulation and exhortation. The Rev. A. H. Wallace (Leith Street Church), a former pastor, also took part in a bright service. The music provided was very attractive. Yocal solos contributed by Mrs G. W. Reid and Miss B. Smith were enthusiastically redemanded. The choir, conducted by Mr C. H. Plant, with Mr Ron Abernethy as organist, cams creditably through an exacting night's work, which comprised seven anthems, the solos in which were rendered by Mrs E. S. Wilkinson, Mrs E. Mitchell, Miss A. Wilkinson, and Mr G. Dyer. Mr Dyer also contributed a solo, and Master Sydney Swift a recitation. Votes of thanks to the dispensers of the tea and to those who provided the entertainment closed the gathering. BEAUTY'S FAVOURITE.
