WASHINGTON, April 12.

Secretary Lansing state that the British reply on the subject of tho seizure of Austrians and Germans from the American steamer Far East ia unsatisfactory. The United States, in a further Note sent to Britain, points out that the Germans and Austrians were engaged in anti-British plots intended to involve American neutrality. France has agreed that the Vulcan's guns shall be used only for defensive purposes, and the ivessel has therefore been allowed to sail.

SWEDISH STEAMER TORPEDOED. LONDON, April 13. (Received April 14, at 0.55 a.m.) The Swedish steamer Marjek (?) has been sunk without warning.
