PASSENGERS BY THE TURAKINA. ARRIVAL IN DUNEDIN. A number of returned eoldiers who ar--5 rived in Auckland by tho Turakina camo on to Dunedin last night by the second express. ) A large crowd of peoplo gathered on tho ) station, and the men received a hearty welcome. The cheering could, however, have easily been of a greater volume, it being left to the driver of a vehicle, on ) which were gathered a number of small ) boys, to lead practically every outburst. A ) numbnr of motor cars wore in attendance, and the soldiers and thoir relatives wore i quickly driven to thoir homes. Tho men to go south were accommodated at the Leviathan Hotel. Tho Mayor (Mr J. J. Clark) was amongst those present on the station. Tho list of returned soldiers, who were under the chargo of Lieutenant George on the journey from Auckland, was as follows: FOR DUNEDIN. i Corporal Nicholson. Lance-corporal Kennedy. Bugler Carnahan. Bugler Ferguson. Private Colyer. Private Menzies. Private Morrissey. Trooper Lawrence. Trooper Sullivan. FOR MILTON. Private Thomas Lane. FOR INVEECABGILL. Private Middlemiss. FOR WAIKAIA. Trooper Williams. ■MAHENO'S PASSENGERS. - RECEPTION AT PORT CHALMERS. The Maheno is expected at Port Chalmers on Saturday morning from Auckland. Arrangements are being made to give the wounded men a fitting reception. On arrival at Dunedin the invalids will be taken to their homes under the usual arrangements.
