MOTOR CAR DESTROYED. ROME, April 11. Advices from Switzerland state that the Kaiser had a narrow escape at Verdun, a French shell exploding near by and killing seveial of his staff and destroying his motor. The official bulletins said he was ■unhurt, but he unexpectedy went to Potsdam, and it is believed he was struck by a fragment of shell or else severely shaken.
