VILLA'S BANDITS
AMERICAN PUNITIVE EXPEDITION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, March 15. A Beater message states that a punitive expedition has entered Mexico in pursuit of Villa's bandits, who recently raided the American town of Columba, killing several of the inhabitants.
TESTING AMERICAN ARMY. ALLEGED UNPBEPAREDNESS. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) LONDON, March 15. (Received March 16, at 5.5 p.m.) The Times correspondent at Washington says : "As far as the public know, the expedition against' Villa has not yet The delay -was made for a test against military unpreparedness. It was argued that the Mexican trouble has been obviously brewing for months, .yet the forces on the border were inadequate to 'cope with it when the time came. Congress has been urged to deal promptly with measures for army reform."
