YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION.

DOMINION CONFERENCE AT BROAD BAY.

The annual New Zealand Conference of tho Young Women's Christian Association is to be held this year at Broad Bay from March 7 to 16, inelusivo. This is the first occasion ou which one of those conferences has been held near Dnnedin, and it is expected that a large number of members of the local association will take advantage of tho opportunity of being present. Already a considerable number of delegates have enrolled from Invercargill, and from Christchurch, and North Inland names are expected to come to hand shortly. The two principal loaders of the conference will be Miss Helen F. Barnes, M.A. (general secretary of tho National Board of Australasian Y.W.C.A.'s), and Miss Mary A. Geddes (national secretary for girls' work). Miss Barnes, who is a distinguished leader of Y.W.C. A. enterprise in tho United States, is n earing the close of her term of service in Australasia, and this is probably the last of these conferences at which she will bo present. Miss Geddes is an Auckland lady, now in charge of the girls' department of tho association's work in Australasia, with her headquarters in Syijpey. Details of speakers and leaders have yet to bo arranged, but tho general scheme of tho conference syllabus :'s clearly defined. The first session, from 9 to 10 o'clock, each morning will bo occupied with a mission study, and the succeeding hour with Bible study From 11 to 12.30 there will be discussion on practical aspccts of all tho varied activities of the association. The afternoons will bo given over to recreation, and in the evening there will be religious services, led by somo specially-ohosen preacher. Delegates will bo housed together in a large boardinghouse. It is anticipated that both Miss Barnes and Miss Geddes will remain in Dunedin for a short timo after the conference, assisting and directing plans : or the extension of the work of the local branch, of the asMciftiioa. •
