FOR THE EMPIRE'S CAUSE.
ANDERSON.—On May 2, 1915, killed in action at Gallipoli, Privato William John Anderson ("Snowey"), 4th Otago Regiment, fifth son of tho late David Anderson, Roxburgh, and Mrs M'Ewan, South Dunedin; aged 27 years. Ho did his duty. DAVIDSON.—On August 8, 1915, killed in action at tho Dardanelles, Joseph Hampton, beloved eldest son of Alexander and Annie Davidson, Waikaia; aged 24 years. Deeply regretted. JAMES. —On May 2 or 3, believed killed in action at the Dardanelles, Piper John Stewart James (Main Expeditionary Force), dearly loved brother of Miss James, 4 Chamberlain street, Maori Hill; aged 24 years. Deeply regretted. He, nobly fighting, nobly fell. M'VICAR. —On May 2, 1915, killed in action at Gallipoli, Private Hugh M'Vicar, youngest son of Grace and the lato Alexander M'Vicar, 77 Russell street, Dunedin. /' He, nobly fighting, nobly fell. O'BRIEN.—On May 2, 1915, killed in action at Gallipoli, Bugler ] Martin Ogilvie O'Brien (4th Otago j Regiment), only son of J. A. and I G. A. O'Brien, 33 Ann street, Ros- j lyn; aged 18g years. I PAISLEY. ROn May _ 3,_ 1915, killed in action at Gallipoli, Ser- j geant Alexander Paisley (Alex.), j 4th Otago Regiment, Main Expedi- j tionary Force, dearly beloved fourth j son of Agnes and John Paisley, Upper Junction, North-East Valley; aged 23 years. Deeply regretted. SPENCE.—On May 2, 1915, killed in action at tho Dardanelles, Lancecorporal Thomas Charles Spenco (4th Otago Regiment), dearly beloved youngest son of Thomas and Elizabeth Spenco, of 26 Cutten road, South Dunedin; aged 24 years. He did his duty. WILLIAMS. —On August 7, killed in action, Private Arthur Williams (Otago Battalion, Main Body), son of Mr C. J. Williams, Bumside; aged 23 years. He did his duty.
CAMERON.—On February 3, at Roscneath, Alexandra, Sarah, relict of Lewis Cameron ; aged 81 years. NICOL. —On January 27. Alexander Nicol (teacher), dearly-beloved husband of the late Joanna M'Rae; aged 55 years. NICOL. —On February 4, at the residence of his grandmother (Mrs Holt), No. 11 Prendergast street, South Dunedin, William James Scoular, the dearly-beloved only son of Errol James, and Emily Nicol; aged one month. "At rest." Private interment.— Hope and Kinaston, undertakers.
