Mails close at tho Chief Post Office, Dunedin, as under:— For Wellington and Main Trunk offices, daily at 6.30 a.m. Late fees, 0.P.0., 7.40 a.m., mail van 8 a.m. Also, supplementary mails at 10.30 a.m. Late fees, C.P.O. 10.45 a.m. Guard's van 11.14 a.m.

For PaJraerston, Oamaru, Waimato, Temuka, Timaru, Ashburton, Christchurch, Westport, overland daily, at 6.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 7.40 a.m., mail van 8 a.m.), and at 10.30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 10.45 a.m., guard's van 11.14 a.m.). For GreymouEh, Ilokitika, Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, at 10.30 a.m. Latefee C.P.O. 10.45 a.m., guard's van 11.14 a m.

For Invercargill and Intermediate Offices, daily at 7.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 8 a.m., and on Express, Trains at 8.30 ajn. and 4.15 p.m. For Oamaru, Timaru, and Intermediate Offices, daily at 2.30 p.m. (late letters on guard's van 3.13 p.m.). THIS DAY (SATURDAY), FEBRUARY 5. For Australian States and South Africa, per Niagara, from Auckland, by North Express, at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and guard's van at 11.14 am. For Lyttelton and Christchurch, por Monowai, at 2 p.m. Late-fee letters 3 p.m. on board. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9.

For Australian States, Expeditionary Force, Ceylon, India, China, Japan, Straits Settlements, South Africa, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, per Riverina, from Wellington, by North Express, at 10 a.m. Late-feo letters C.P.O. 10.30 a,m., and guard's van 11.14 a.m. Correspondence for the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe must be specially addressed " Via Suez."

For Pago Pago, Honolulu, United States of America, Central America, Canada, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, etc. (duo London, March 16), per Riverina, from Wellington (connecting with Sonoma at Sydney), by North Express, at 10 a.m. Late-fee letters C.P.O. 10.30 a.m., and guard's van at 11.14 a.m.

Mails for Australian States (except New South Wales and Queensland) and South Africa? per Paloona, will close at Wellington this day (Saturday), sth inst., at 7.45 p.m. Mails for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, per Talune, will close at Auckland on Monday, 7th inst., at 8.45 a-m. Note.—As correspondence for all neutraj oountries is subject to censorship, it is urged, in order to avoid delays, that such correspondence bo posted in ample time for tho mail, the day previous to its despatch, if possible. Money orders for places within the dominion close one hour before advertised time of closing letter mails. Money orders for places beyond the dominion for despatch by tho North or South Express close at 4 p.m. the previous day.

The late fee is Id in addition to ordinary postage. The late-fee box on Second North Express is available for letters only. Registered mails close one hour before advertised time of closing ordinary mails. Book packets, commercial papers, and newspapers close half an hour before the advertised time of letter mails. Wm.
