(Received Jan. 16, at 5.5 p.m.) The War Contingent Association congratulated Sir Thomas Mackenzie on the honour conferred upon him. Lord Plunket, Sir James Mills, Mr Douglas M'Lean, and Mr Gilbert Anderson spoke of the thorough organisation of Sir Thomas Mackenzie's office to meet the war demands. Until Sir Thomas Mackenzie took up the dominion trade and finance problems they had frequently been misunderstood. The speakers paid tributes to Lady Mackenzie's kindnesses to the wounded soldiers. '
