At the compulsory conference in connection with the wharf lumpers' strike Mr Justice Higgins decided that the men are entitled to 2s 10jd an hour overtime and 3s 9d per hour on holidays, leaving the question of ordinary pay optional. The men are resuming work to-day, providing the employers' concession granting 2s per hour is ratified. STATE BRICKWORKS. SYDNEY, January 15. The State brickworks are to resume work on Monday, pending an inquiry into the dismissal which was the cause of the strike. BROKEN HILL DISTURBANCE. SYDNEY, January 15. (Received Jan. 16, at 5.5 p.m.) The Broken Hill mines are strongly picketed. Arrangements are being completed for the issue of food tickets to the strikers. A meeting of the Amalgamated Minev' Association declared Port Pirie "black." Any members of the association continuing work there will be expelled. Unions throughout Australia have been instructed to decline to handle Port Pirie produce.
