ENEMY COMPANIES AND FIRMS. LEGISLATION IN ENGLAND. ACTION TAKEN IN AUSTiRALIA. LONDON, January 14. Captain Pretyman's (Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade) Bill dealing with enemy companies and firms trading with the United Kingdom will he introduced next week. MELBOURNE, January 15. The Prime Minister (Mr W. M. Hughes) has announced that companies incorporated in Australia having naturalised or utinaturalised enemy aliens holding shares will receive three months' grace, within which period such sharing must be discontinued. No exceptions will be allowed, except by permission of the Attorneygeneral. In future the transfer of shares by enemy aliens will not be allowed. Similarly, the transfer of land will not be allowed'.
