A Wellington Press Association telegram states that the Ross gold mine return was 21oz Bdwt of gold from 342 trucks of wash. He will advise the syndicate to obtain the services of an expert from Mexico or Spain. Dr Flatau has also visited Puhipuhi, but he ffnfca. that he prefers the prospects at Ohao-

wai, where there is a lode 4ft wide./ At the same time, 'he says, there is a valuable minefield in the neighbourhood of Puhipuhi. On one property there is, he states, oyer half a million tons of surface ore showing more or less cinnabar.
