WILL RENOUNCE HIS CLAIMS. FOR LIBERTY IN SPIRITUAL WORK. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.)'' LONDON, November 19. It is understood that at the approaching' Consistory the Pope intends substantially to declare his renunciation of his claims to temporal power in return for international guarantees for liberty in spiritual work. He proposes to take this step, with Italy's consent, in the 'presence of a European Conference.
