Thomas Gourlay, cook and baker, South Dunedin. William Henry Howard, traveller, Dunedin. Samuel George Chapman-Cohen, insurance agent, South Dunedin. Edward Wilson, labourer, Dunedin. Charles Walter Hall, porter, Ravene■bourne. - Edwin Arthur Leonard Grigg, clerk, Woodhaugh. TRAINING FOR MEN PASSED AS FIT. The class paraded on Monday evening, under Lieutenant Kirkham. and Sergeantmajor Diokel. There was a good attendance, and a solid hour and a-quarter was put in with squad drill and extended order work. As this parade finished up the Tenth Reinforcement men (leaving for Trentham to-day), it was intended to hold a march, out, but, as no band was available, the idea was abandoned. It is safe to say that the existence oi the class is fully justified by the results. The marching and general bearing of the men during their work on Monday night bore striking testimony to the keenness of both men and instructors. Now that the men of the Tenth Reinforcements are departing, new squads will be formed, and the class will be continued without a break. Men passed as fit, and without any previous military training, are advised to join at once. As showing the excellent' spirit prevailing ■in the class, it may be mentioned that, on Tuesday morning, a deputation from the members, headed by Mr J. G. M'Donald, waited on Lieutenant Kirkham and handed him a silver-mounted Loewe pipe as a mark of appreciation and good feeling from the boys, who, as Mr M'Donald pointed out, were unanimous as to the benefits derived from their instruction, and also as to the opportunity the class provided for men to get into touch with their future comrades. The class parades at the Garrison Hall on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.45. TENTH REINFORCEMENTS. It has already been pointed out that the men going to-day with the Tenth Reinforcements are to assemble at the Kensington Drill Hall, not the Garrison Hall, as heretofore. The men will assemble at 10 a.m., and the march to town will commence at 11 o'clock. CANTERBURY QUOTA. (Peb United Press Association.)
