RECRUITING.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I wish to submit to business men in this town that, if they are unable to go to the war, they should at least make it /is easy as possible for single men in their employ to enlist. I am going, and I am certain that a number of other single men would bo willing to go if they were assured that their mothers or relatives whomTihey are at present supporting would be cared for all the time they are away fighting. I woul<% suggest that all business firms which are employing men should issue a notice to the effect that, if any single man in their services is accepted as e fit and has a mother to maintain, they would «t least bo -willing to support the mother during his absence. I also trust that Mrs Grace Fox will do her best in this direction, as I am convinced that there are a lot of single men who are unable to go because they have in each case to support a mother 'or other relative. If the business men took the stand I suggest I am quite satisfied that there are a number of single men who assert they have a mother to support would be unable to prove their assertions. —I am, eto., ■ Enlisted. Dunedin, November 13.
