JOHANNESBURG ELECTIONS

CAPTAIN SIMSON RETURNED. (Pjcb United Press Association.) OHRISTCHURCH, November 15. Captain Donald Simson, who fought at the Dardanelles, and is now addressing recruiting meetings in New Zealand, has received a cablegram from Johannesburg stating: "The citizens' ticket has been elected for the Municipal Council of Johannesburg, and you top the poll. When are you returning?"

(Pes United Pbbss Association.) OHRISTCHURCH, November 15. Captain Simson said to-day that he had been away from South Africa since three months before the war started, and had been nominated and elected in his absence. Captain Simson left for Wellington tonight, and will return to Christchurch in about 10 days' time to continue his recruiting work.
