DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. A somewhat brighter tone than usual per- ( vaded the local share market yesterday, and a moderate number of sales were recorded. In the mining stock division Electrics were ] again in demand at 2s 9d without a seller, < and there were buyers of Rising Suns at -, £1 2s, with a seller asking 3s more. Mining lines were very quiet, and there were . no movements worth recording. Some ac- ' tivity was apparent amongst investment ' stocks, and firm prices prevailed. A sale ] was reported in National Insurances at £2 ( 6s 3d, and the market closod firm with a buyer at £2 6s and a seller at £2 6s 6d. New Zealand and South British, Insurances J both had buyers at current rates, but no sellers came forward. « Business was reported in the preferential issue of Union Steams at £1 Is, and then; were further sellers of this line at £1 Is 3d, with buyers i ofYering £1 Os 9d. Westport Coals main- c tained their recent level, and two parcels of this scrip changed hands at £1 8s 9d, the closing quotations for tho day being £1 8s 6d (buyer) and £1 9s (seller). s
