0 Miss 0. W. Christie (national lecturer 9 of the Now Zealand Scotion Thcosophical ' Society) gave her hearers much to think about in her address on " The After Death States of Soldier and Civilian." The speaker emphasised the necessity for knowledge of these states, and said that it was possible to know—not merely to hope or believe. In order to obtain this knowledge, whidh f would show deathas the gateway to a. wider 3 and more beautiful life, and not as the awful - King of Terrors which the whole Western - "World had made of it, a mart- must work 1 to- develop those faculties, latent in all l men, and patent in some of the more highly 3 evolved of the race, which would enable 3 him to consciously leave the physical body r and to remember what he had seen while 3 out of it. The day was coming when only r those who knew would bo considered com--3 potent to teach
