The weakness there, it is hoped, may be only temporary. Owing to the drought, planting operations in the Northern River districts have been seriously affected. The arrival of a shipment of potatoes from San Francisco, and the large quantity now on the way from New Zealand, may have caused the present easing of the market in Sydney; «> . SHEEPSKIN SALE. The Dunedin Woolbrokers' Association (Messrs Dalgety and Co., A. Moritzson and Co., National Mortgage and Age'ncy Company, New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Company, Otago Fanners' Cooperative Association, Donald Reid and Co., (Stronach, Morris, and Co., and Wright, Stephenson and Co.) report as follows:'— The fortnightly sale of sheepskins was held on Tuesday, when fair-sized catalogues were offered to a full attendance of buyers. Bidding was animated, and prices were firm at. last sale's rates, and, if anything, were inclined to be a shade firmer.
