WANGANUFS FINE EXAMPLE. PAVILION~AT ROTORUA. (Pek United Pbess Association.) WELLINGTON, September 3. Yesterday afternoon Mr Hope Gibbons (of Wanganui), with the Hon. G. Carson, M.L.C., dnd Mr Veitch, M.P., waited on the Minister of Public Health to ask what could be done by Wanganui for the benefit of returning wounded soldiers, j He expressed a desire that additional hospital accommodation should be accepted as Wanganui's contribution. The Hon. (1. W. Russell thanked Mr Gibbons for the patriotic sentiments of Wanganui as expressed by him, but said the Government had already in sight in the hospitals of the country all the accommodation required for some time to come. He would, however, be glad if Wanganui "would consent to devote a sum towards the establishment and equipment for the convalescent camp to bo established on Pukeioa Hill, Rotorua. For £500 provision would be made for 25 troopers. Mr Gibbons, said- Wanganui would subscribe that sum for the purpose. Mr Russell thanked him for the offer, which he accepted. The pavilion to be elected "would be known as the Wanganui Pavilion. He trusted other centres would follow the fine lead set by that town.
