DUNEDIN AMATEUR BOATING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting Of . the Dunedin Amateur Boating Glub was held at Heifernan's Hotel on Monday -night, and was attended by 20 members, toe president (Mr it. V. Pilrker) in the chair. The annual report stated that unfortunately the membership had suffered a decrease, principally through members having left for tile front. The form shown by a number of new members gave every indication that the future prospects of the club were brighter. The. wave of. patriotism which had swept through the British Empire had been the means of inducing a number of members to vblunteer to uphold the prestige of the nation. The members on active service during the season were?: — E. Tyson, D. Mahoney, S. Foote, S. Brown, J. Brown, W. Parker, H. Bowie, W. Hornell, E. Fry, W. M'Oulloch, J. Foley, 1 -A. Andrews, W. Thomson. A. Fothergill. Three members—E. Frye, A. Fothergill, and J Johnston —had made the major sacrifice for the Empire. _ . ■ The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, congratulated the committee in being able to present such a satisfactory report after a year of upheaval. He referred in appreciative terms to the 14 members who had answered ;he Empire's call, and made feeling reference to those members who had made the uttermost sacrifice for their ideals. ' The balance sheet showed that the club had just maintained its position, though one very substantial item on it would not be recurrent. All the debentures have been paid off, leaving an overdraft of £39 17s 6d. Mr D. Sourr seconded the motion, which was carried.,, The election of officers resulted as follows :—Patron, Mr C. F. Greenslade (reelected); president, Mr R. V, Parkervicepresidents—Messrs iD. Slcurr, W. Hall, H. Harris, J. Rapson, J. J. Ledgerwood, P. Stabb; captain, Mr J. Slight; deputy-cap-' tain, Mr H.
