NO DEATHS SINCE WEDNESDAY.
STATEMENT BY MR MASSEY.
(Peb United Pnuss Association.) WELLING!ON, July 10. The Prime Minister stated to-day that there had been no more deaths at Treiitham camp since Wednesday, and that there wa« no evidence of other complaints than a virulent form of influenza. In regard to the statements that ilenguo fever had iiiiule its appearance, lie says there is no reason to beliove it, and lie has received no report, from the medical officers justifying tho rumour. CAUSE FOR SHIFTING. INFECTIOUS DISEASE. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 10. T he Prime Minister was asked to-day for a definite statement as to the reason for so suddenly shifting the camp. It was pointed out that the public desired the information, and Mr Massey replied: "The medical authorities told us that the complaint from which a number of the men were suffering was infectious, and there was no probability of being able to cope with it unless the? men were shifted at once."
