DRAUGHTS MATCH

There was an unusually large attendance at the rooms of the St. ICilda Club on lnursuiiy night, tho occasion being tho first meeting this sea.son of the Anderson Bay and St. Kilda Clubs. The result was a win for the St. Kilda Club by 13 games, the scores being—St. Kilda 27. Anderson Bay 14, drawn 11. Sixteen boards were engaged. I hat the Bay Club has been paving" attention to practice was soon made evident in more than one instance, whilst tneir pl&y till round showed a marked improvement on that of last year. Tho play finished, refreshments were handed round.

In announcing the result, Captain L. J. Edwards expressed tho thanks of his club mates for the pleasant evening spent, and congratulated the visitors on their improved play. In responding, Captain J. R. Fairbairn thanked the St. Kilda players for tho welcome aecordcd his team, also for tho words of. encouragement and kindly sentiments expressed. They looked forward hopefully to their next meeting. Mr S. S. Myers (president) endorsed the captain's remarks.

Cheers and musical honors were exchanged, and the gathering dispersed after a good evening's enjoyment.
