'.' (2) All Germans who aro naturalised JJntish subjects are to bo suspended unless satishcd that such persons aro absolutely loyal, careful inquiry to bo made in such cases." To inquire into the necessity or propriety of the internment of such alien enemies or of other restrictions on the liberty of such alien enemies. 6. lo inquire into the necessity or propriety of the exercise by the Government ot JNew Zealand of any powers possessed or which may be hereafter possessed by that Government in respect of such alien enemies, whether by virtue of his Majesty's prerogative or by Virtue of any statutory or other authority. 4. In pursuance of any such inquiry to report to and advise the said Government a ? w> an J of the matters aforesaid, provided that no such inquiry or reports shall be made except upon the written request and reference of a Minister of the Crown irom time to time; and every such inquiry and report shall be limited to the matters and persons specified in such request and reference.

Partridge's collection of Lindaeur pictures for tho Auckland Art Gallery. , At a. function in tho Town Hall this week a cheque for £10,000 will be handed to Mr Partridge, who will pass it on to tho Belgian Relief Fund, and hand over the pictures to the city.
