The Wyndham Farmer records the sudden death, from heart failure, of Air Alexander 8011, a well-known settfer who was a native of Arbroath. Forfaxshiro, Scotland, was a colonist of probably over 40 years' standing, for ho had lived in Edondalo district fully 30 years having gone south with Mr Ja'mce Shand! from the Taieri, when that gentleman took up a large block of the Land Companv's estate at Eden-dale. He had been an active member of tho Wyndham A. and P. Society, and honoured by being elected to the presidential chair for a term. As a stock breeder ho made a good reputation in draught horses anH sheep, with -which ho secured many prizes in open' competition.
