MINING.
The low-level cross-cut in tho Dominion mine, Karangahake is now in 1697 ft. The manager leports that the country is still good for reef-bearing, and the water is issuing freely from the face. A meeting of shareholders in tho Watchman G.M. Company was held at Auckland on Tuesday for the purpose of considering the circular issued by the directors, in which it was recommended that the company should be voluntarily wound up. A resolution was adopted' to go into liquidation. Tho master of the Golden Bed dredge reports that tho top tumbler of the elevator gave way on Monday, and did some damage to a few of the buckets. These have since been repaired and everything fixed in position again. A fresh start was made at midday on Thursday, and all is going well.
