WELLINGTON, May 14. The Agricultural Department has received a report from the New Zealand Commissioner at the Panama Exhibition, San Francisco, regarding a small shipment of fruit sent by the- Maitai.

The commissioner states that the apples and nectarines arrived in good condition, but the apricots, prunes, peaches, plums, and pears carried badly, and arrived in soft condition, a large proportion being rotten. Tho department states that the report is not encouraging, but th<? shipment had been decided on early in the season.
