DRUIDISM.
The meeting of the Enterprise Lodge was presided over by A.D. Bro. Jones and was. well attended. Sick pay amounting to £7 was passed for payment. Invitations "were received from- Ivanho,i and Pride of Morningtou Lodges to witness the installation of Bros. Wilkinson and Birt as D.IVs, and it was decided to pay each lodge an official visit. The efficiency judges were present, and the initiation ceremony wan gone through for their benefit. Bros. Ockwell, Jones, and Eoss were appointed delegates .to the combined Concert Committee. The concert, which is to be held shortly, is in aid of tho Belgian Fund, and it is hoped it will be a big success. It was resolved that the secretary write to all brothers leaving for the front, conveying the congratulations of the lodge and expressing the wish for a speedy return. Bros. Ockwell, Slyfield, and Harland contributed to the harmony of the meeting. The usual loyal toasts, including those of the brothers at the front, were duly honoured. Welcome visitors were Bro. Stewart, D.P. of No. 2 District; Bro. Slyfield, Ivanhoe; and Bro. Harland, All Nations. The fortnightly meeting of the Linden Lodge was held on Tuesday, and proved most interesting. A.D. Bro. W. R. Hill presided over a full attendance of officers and many members and visitors, among whom were D.P. Bro. Beazley, P.D.P. Bros. Eeid, Green, and Jacobson, P.A. Bro. M'Donald (Lily), P.A. Bro. Gallie (Enterprise), P. A. Bro. Poss (Otago), and, most important on this occasion, the judges of the lodge efficiency competition appointed by the Royal Arch Chapter (G.V.P. Bro. Harland, P.D.P. Bro. M'Beath, and P.A. Bro. Slyfield). This meeting had been' looked forward to for some time; and the officers made a determined effort to reach „a high standard of efficiency in lodge management and ritual work. . The room was transformed [ into a minature forest of oaks, and the white-robed and grey-bearded bards and brothers around the* fire and under the oaks made an impressive scene in the initiation ceremony. It was resolved to pay an official visit to Ivanhoe Lodge on the occasion of the installation of the D.P. Elect for No. 1 District. P.A. Bro. Bridges, V.A. Bro. Freeman, and V.A.B. Bro. James Duff, jun., were appointed delegates to the committee arranging a united Druidic effort for Belgian relief. P.D.P. Bro. A. Sunderland reported on behalf of the delegates to Grand Lodge I at the recent annual meeting, and the report was received with thanks to the delegates. The Vigilance Committee reported favourably on its efforts to retain members. The usual loyal toasts were honoured and responded to by the visitors. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the chapter and to the judges for their valuable work to the Order. P.D.P. Bro. M'Beath responded on behalf of the chapter.
