Evidence of the efficacy of the present system of licensed foster homes was provided at an inquest at Auckland on Friday morning by Miss Jackson, of the Industrial School, who acts as inspector of foster homes (says tho Star). Miss Jackson informed the coroner (Mr F. V. Frazcr, S.M.), that since the present Act came irto force seven or eight years ago there lad not uiufi the last few days., been a single death among foster children in Auckland from other than natural causes.
