HOCKEY.
GYMNASTIC CLUB. The sixth annual meeting of the club was held on Thursday night. Mr W. H. Matthews occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. The annual report dealt with the year's work, showing the results of a very successful season, in the. JVt'Lean Oup competition the senior eleven came out runneraup, the keen enthusiasm shown by ail members of the team accounting for the position. Ttie junior team occupied a similar position, suffering only two defeats ,£?, ins ic tne final match for the Williamson Cup by only 1 point Past members had kept up their interest in the club s weliare, by becoming honorary memThe adoption of the report and balance sheet was moved by the Chairman, seconded by Mr P. B. Foote, and carried. Mr Matthews congratulated all members on the position of the teams, and on tho 6plenaid manner in which all players had turned out "to matches during the whole season. The election of office-bearers resulted as follow: President, ■Mr W. H. Matthews (re-elected); vice-presidents—Messrs G. N K'tchie, B. Fell, W. Beadle, and a" M Master; club captain, Mr P. B. Footedeputy club captain, Mr J. ;Hogg; hon! secretary, Mr ,J. Hogg (re-elected); committee—Messrs Crawford, Smart, and N M'Leod; auditor, Mr G. C. Nicolson; delegates to D.H.A., Messrs P. B. Foote and Ji>- vV... Smart.
