FEELING THE PINCH No matter whether the Russians and Servians are from the military experts' point of view winning or losing, they are at least compelling Imperial Germany and Austria to exhaustive efforts—i.e., making them "feel the pinch." With regard to the Belgian, French, and British armies there is no question bnt they on their side are doing the samo good work; while the ■British Navy, by more or less effective blockade in withholding supplies of war material and is undoubtedly " pinching'' both the German army and the German people, with the result that, in sheer exasperation, like a road bull, she is now RUNNING AMOK! Is it not marvellous that, whilst the German people—the -wealthy classes—ere being urged to quit Germany in order to reduce the number of mouths to be fed on the few potatoes, and less wheat, now left, that thanks to PENROSE'S GREAT FIRE SALE Both rich and poor alike may in this , country obtain drapery, clothing, dress material, neckwear, carpets, blankets, sheets, etc., etc., at absolutely SACRIFICIAL PRICES! That ia to say, at prices not only lower than -were quoted prior to the war but subject to phenomenal reductions never before attempted. When this Great Fire Sale is over prices must inevitably rise for all classes of drapery goods. There is every indication of this, and patrons are asked to seriously consider the situation. If they do so, they must conclude that, as ' PENROSE'S GREAT AND COMPULSORY FIRE SALE Cannot last much longer, now is the time to thoroughly and completely stock their homes with all that is requisite and conducive to warmth, comfort, and elegance, and obtainable at a leading drapery establishment. Those who neglect their own interests now must inevitably FEEL THE PINCH BY AND BY. -Advt.
