FATALITIES.
(P«b United Pbkub Associatioh.) AUCKLAND, February 21. A young woman named Vida Muy Shepherd, 21 years of age, and a resident of Ponsonby, fell off the launch Haeremai in Uangitoto Channel last night. She waa pulled aboard a few minutes later in a st-mi-consc-iOus condition, and suffering from hemorrhage. She was baleen home, but she died a few hours later. She had been in delicate health.
WESTPORT, February 20. An inq-ueet waa held in regard to the death of Mrs Clayforth, who disappeared from her bedroom in her night garments. A verdict wa6 returned of "Found drownod in- the Buller River, but there is no evidence to show how she got into the water."
GORE, February 20. A well-known resident of Heriot, Mr Harry Boylen, wne found dead in his hut yesterday. Part of tho floor of the hut was burnt, also tho power portion of tho deceased's body.
