"Rex."--The fii>t electric car on the Ros-lyn-Maci'i Hill system made its trial trip on Ovtober 4, 1900, and regular passenger running commenced a fortnight later. The Auckland system commenced running on November 24, 1902. With regard to the other centres, Dunedin commenced on December, 24. 1903; Wellington in the following year, and Christchuroh in July, 1805. It is interesting to not/ 1 that the cars now in use on the Roi-lyn-Maori Hill system are those originally usod, that thev are in splendid order, and apparently have years of service still ahead of tnem.
