FIRES

(Feb United Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, January 27. The damage by the fire at Brunnerton yesterday is estimated at £3000. A quantity of stock from the varioufi premises was saved. This is the second time within 12 months that the Borough Chambers and the Druids' room have been burnt. The origin of the lire is not known. Insurances: Nimmo, £500 on the stock and £150 on the buildin?; hotel, £500 on the building and £200 on the stock and furniture. There was little or no cover on the other places. GISBORNE, January 26.

Fire destroyed the homestead at Reay .Station, which is owned by Messrs Sisterton and M'Rae.
