One of the reasons for starting is to stamp out stale and bad Eggs completely. Tho firm of White and Co. buy Fresh Eggs, Clean, and Unstamped, in any quantities at full market values. If the Eggs are over seven days' old in summer months they will not be stamped, but if not more than seven days' old they will be stamped as follows: —"White's Elysian Registered Eggs." Merrett, who controls all Egg circles from Timaru northwards, and who introduced tho Egg circle movement into New Zealand Owing to many working people suffering from the effects of the war, the firm (owing to getting large quantities of Eggs from Canterbury) has decided to put a limited quantity of an improved preserved Egg in the hands of genuine members of the Grocers' Association to retail at Is 2d per dozen, and if there should be any pastrycooks whose business is in jeopardy through prices of cream of tarter, flour, fruit, etc., having risen in price, and who may be unable to secure preserved Eggs this winter, as "no German flit" is procurable—if there are pastrycooks in that prdicament—wo will also do our best to supply them with our improved preserved Eggs. The People's Palace Hotel, in an interview with an officer of the Agricultural Department, Wellington, about five years ago, said that the Eggs for pan work were perfect, and when boiled none but an epicure could tell but that they were straight from the nest. Of course, those who aro in a position-to give full value for Eggs, cannot be supplied at Is 2d per dozen. Some of th.j Eggs were sent to Dunedin in 1911, and realised Is 8d per dozen wholesale.
