ALLIES' SUCCESSES The Prime Minister has received the following from the High Commissioner, dated London, January 21 (3.35 p.m.): — Paris rejK>rts that the Allies recaptured yesterday the trench lost at iNotre Dame de Lorette, taking 100 prisoners. The enemy, in attacking south of Thionville, in the region of Albert, reached the Allies' wire entanglements and were then repulsed. Three attacks at La lioisclle met with the same fate. In the Argonne, a German .attack at La Fontain am Charmes was repelled after a hand-to-hand fight. Petrograd reports that north of Rawa two of the enemy's attacks were checked by artillery and the Germans were compelled to fall back. The German offensive at the bridge-head at Nitkovitze was repelled. In Western Galicia the enemy, having heavily bombarded the Russian position south of Radlow and firing two villages, in a compact force reached the wire entanglements and met with a withering fire from which they suffered great losses and fell back. The Russians are successfully advancing in the Bukowina region. They have occupied the village of Joahaneschti and took prisoners.
