SYDNEY, January 21. As a result of the ballot the New South Wales Public Service Association decided to become a registered trade "union. (Received Jan. 21, at 9.35 p.m.) Mr Spence (Federal Postmaster-general) has agreed to erect a telegraph line,with iron standards between Melbourne and Sydney for the Pacific Cable Board. The Federal parliamentary party has returned from Norfolk Island, where members inquired into the islanders' wants, including a oostly breakwater. The weatheT is cooler, but the thermometer to-day registered over lOOdeg, and soft drink-sellers are coining money.
