The New South Wales gold yield in 1914 was 124,5070z, valued at £528,873, compared with 149,6570z, valued at £635.703, in 1913. (Received Jan. 14, at 8 p.m.) The export of coal from Newcastle during 1914 totalled 4,853,505 tons, ae compared with 5,236,621 for the previous year. Xxports to New Zealand declined by 90,000 tons. (Received Jan. 14, at 9.45 p.m.) The newsvendors' boycott still continues, and the public is greatly inconvenienced, there being no evening papers obtainable in the streets. MELBOURNE, January 14. (Received Jan. 14, at 9.45 p.m.) The Hon. Alfred Deakin is to act as representative for Australia at the Panama Exhibition, and will leave next week. ADELAIDE, January 14. A deputation of unemployed appealed to the Government for work. It stated that distress was acute at Port Adelaide, where 3000 are idle. Relief was promised by the Government. The Premier stated that the South Australian Legislative Assembly would expire by effluxion of time on February 28, and the eWtion writs would be issued on March 8, polling day being fixed for March 27.
