FALSE SOCIALISM.
Sin,—l have been highly amused at the consistency" of Messrs U. S. Thomson and H. D. Bedford. Mr Thomson we find running down capitalists and shareholders generally in his talks to electors during his effort to get to Wellington. When tie is wiped out, as he deserved to be, wo find a complains front hirr; that a shareholder in <a company of "which he was auditor moves to get him shunted. Let Mr Thomson bo loyal to hie so-called convictions and refuse to earn his living by auditing capitalists' accounts. Then we might think he is true to his preaching, but wo do not find Socialists practising what they preach. Mr Bedford, m a high falutin' way "slangs" his own profession, and says practically that lawyers should not exist. Yet he still remains in the business. Of course. Why? Because it is a profitable one. When these so-called .Socialists practiso what they preach by giving up something for tie sake of their so-called convictions we may try to believe in them. I am, etc., True Socialist.
