When two Punjab head constables and a Bengali deputy superintendent were conferring with other policemen in the Indian quarter concerning political cases a bomb was thrown from a window, wounding the two head constables. The policemen and others chased the perpetrators, who threw a second bomb, killing an orderly and wounding two others, including an unknown man, who refused to give his name.
