Tuesday, Novembeb 24. (Before Mr E. W. Burton, S.M.)

Attempted Suicide. —Jane Ruth Sharp, about 20 years of age, pleaded guilty to having attempted to commit suicide on Sunday.—From the statement of Senior Sergeant Dart it appeared that on the day named the girl had reason to believe that she lied been jilted, and in her trouble took some ear lotion from a bottle marked "Poison."' Dr Roberts was called in, but found that there was not much the matter with the girl. The attempt was reported to the police, who took the accused into custody. The girl's mistress ■was willing to take her back to her employment.—His Worship convicted the girl, and ordered her to come up for sentence when called on.

Thefts.—Clarence John Cuff pleaded guilty to stealing on March' 3 and September 1 two sums of £1 73 4d, the property of the Colonial Mutual Assurance Company.—The hearing of the case was adjourned.
