HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The following reports will be presented to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board at its meeting to-morrow night:—
Benevolent Committee's Report.—Have dealt with 43 cases for relief at a weekly cost of £15 14s. Casual cases for relief amounting to £28 8s 2d have been approved. Authority has been granted to provide the usual Christmas fare at the Otago Benevolent Institution. During the past fortnight three persons have been admitted to, eight persons discharged from, and one death has occurred at the Benevolent Institution, leaving 191 inmates remaining. Pay sheets and accounts amounting to £1097 7s 3d have been passed for payment.
Sanatorium Committee's . Report. — Authority hafe been granted to provide the usual Chrietmae fare at the Pleasant Valley Sanatorium. Pay sheete and accounts amounting to £241 15s 6d have been passed for payment. Hospital Committee's Report.—Have fixed tho ooening of the new pavilion at Dunodin Hospital for December 17. Authority lias been granted to provide the usual Christmas fare at tho Dunedin Hospital. Letters of thanks have been sent to the following for their donations to Dunedin Hospital:—Hospital Guild (clothing), Mrs Ewea (books), Mr G. Walker (books). Pay sheets and accounts have been passed for payment amounting to—General account, £1111 13s lid; building account, £2734 7s; laboratory account, £19 16s 3d.
Finance Committee's Report. — We commend that authority bo granted to pay the following accounts for maintenance: — Maintenance in Napier Hospital and Park Island Home, £34 Os 8d; in Napier Hospital, £53 2s; in Oamaru Hospital, £14 19s. Authority has been granted to carry out plastering, carpentering, and painting repair? at Tapanui Hospital, at an estimated cost of about £10. Regarding the claim from South Canterbury Hospital and Charit able Aid Board for maintenance in Timaru Hospital, instructions have been given to aak that board to furnish further particular. l ; in regard thereto, before any liability can be accepted. The offer received from Mr 0. Tilburn for sale to the board of his property at Wale an has been referred to the honorary medical staff and medical superintendent to report thereon. Pay sheets and accounts, as per finance book herewith, have been passed for payment amounting to £5570 9s. The balances of the various accounts of the board, as on the 23rd inst., were an follows:—General account (debit). £11,787 9s; building account (credit). £2917 19s 4d; laboratory account (credit). £138 15e 3d; Campbell interest account (credit), £286 12s 10d: Hospital Saturday account (credit), £804 10s 9d ;— net dob'it, £7639 10s 10d.
