GOODWOOD DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB.

On Wednesday the Goodwood Defence Rifle Club held the opening day of the season's shooting. There was a very largo attendance of members and friends,, there being between 60 and 70 ladies and gentlemen present. Judging by the keenness displayed by • the old members and the number of new members the club should again have a very successful season. The weather, although fine, was not favourable to good scoring, there being a very choppy wind blowing across the range, and only a few were fortunate in getting down in a fairly steady spell. As usual the ladies provided afternoon tea, which was very much appreciated by all-present. A competition was fired at 300 and 500 yards; conditions, 7 shots and 1 optionafsighter.
