"IT'S A LONG WAY TO TIPPERARY."
Sie,—ln your issue of to-day appears a letter from "Mr J. A. Haggitt to the effect that tho Dunedin Orphans' Club is including tho song "It's a Long Way to Tipporary" in tho programme for its pr,triotic concert. Now. why shou'd Mr Haggitt answer .letters in the papers on behalf of the club? I cannot find his name among the list- of officers. I believe ho is the pinnist for the club, and without doubt fills that position with credit; but it is news to a great itiany people that he has assumed the position of corresponding secretary."' Ths idea of putting tho song on the j.vograrnrne was, I am given to understand, first nut forward by the secretary and two members before Mr Stewart's letter eppeared in the paper, and was finally decided upon at a full practice of the choir and orchestra, at which tho president was present.—l arn, etc., SlKus.
