(Peb United Press Association.) TIMARU, September 25. Heavy showers fell over the district todiy. A good fall of rain would be very welcome, (Feom Ottb Own Correspondents.) NASEBY, September 25. After many weeks of continuous dry weather in the Maniototo district a welcome rain has at last set in. Tho country will benefit greatly by the break, as there has been very little growth as yet owing to lack of moisture. BECKS, September 25. Rain started to fall yesterday, and 91 points were registered. This morning at 8.50—a nice, warm rain fell. The barometer is very low, and it is still raining. The country"is looking well. GALLOWAY, Septqmber 25. Tho rainfall registered here for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. was 14 points. ALEXANDRA, September 25. A cold snap set in, and. the weather is showery. Snow fell at Ranfurly to-day. Passrngers by the train say Me weather will be particularly bad for lambe. CROMWELL, September 25. Heavy rain has fallen all over the district during the last 24 hours, but the weather, although etill squally, shows signs of clearing. There was a light fall of snow on the hills. DIPTON, September 25. The rainfall registered to-day was 61 points. OAMARU, September 25. After a drought extending over many weeks, beneficial rain fell to-dav throughout North Otago. tho fall in tho back country being specially heavy.
